About us and where we came from

Games Mania UK was created on the 30th July 2002 and has evolved rapidly to become what is it today. The site was developed due to the huge lack of informative UK gaming info sites. There are of course some big UK gaming sites, but we felt that perhaps some of the facts were changed due to sponsorships and affiliates. The site was originally launched as Games Mania and reported on news from around the world, but when the change was made to focus on UK news 'UK' was added to the name. Since we started we have grown from  being a extremely small website with 8 pages to having our own domain, professional layout and much much more.

Since our original launch many things have changed, but our goal still remains the same. We aim to be one of the internets biggest suppliers of news and information from the games industry covering the PC and Mac operating systems, the Playstation 2, XBox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Wii, GameBoy Advance, N-Gage, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, Gizmondo and anything inbetween. In the future we hope to grow and become a regular source for gamers in the UK, and hope our services and news continue to be free.

The small print

Games Mania UK is a non-commercial website that is stored on a server maintained by One.Com. Games Mania UK is made up of many different PHP programs. The site administration is powered by gameCMS. The forums are powered by phpBB. The advertisements are rotated by phpAdsNew. We highly recommend any of this software for your own site. We would also like to thank anyone else who helped build Games Mania UK or game us advice, we really couldn't have done it without ya!

All our reviews/previews on Games Mania UK are written on our own opinions and are not necessarily true. If you buy/pre-order a game as a result of our reviews/previews and then the game turns out to not be as good as what we said/expected it to be then we can not be held responsible, because even though we do try to look at games from good and bad angles in the end it all comes down to taste. All reviews we write are in our own opinions and is only what we personally think of the game.
